Thow it Away? No Way!

At Northallerton Repair Café, we want to help you bring your old computers, lamps, clocks, cameras, curtains, jeans, dresses (and more) back to life rather than seeing them in landfill or recycled because they no longer work. We have a dedicated team of wonderful repairers waiting to help you fix your well loved items to enjoy them for years to come.

About Us

We are Northallerton Repair Café

Located at Northdale, Northallerton

Repair Cafés are free meeting places and they’re all about repairing things (together). In the place where a Repair Café is located, you’ll find tools and materials to help you make any repairs you need. On clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, etc. You’ll also find expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields.Visitors bring their broken items from home and, together with the specialists, they start making their repairs in the Repair Café. It’s an ongoing learning process. If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and chat with the volunteers and other repairees. We take donations for refreshments and repairs, which helps to keep the Repair Café going.

TREASURER

I have a background in I.T. but also love cooking and growing food and I help to run our local allotment association. I’ve always hated throwing anything away if it can be repaired and do my best to fix things myself if I can, so the idea of Repair Café really appeals to me. When I heard about setting one up in Northallerton I was very keen to get involved and hope I can put my organisational skills to good use, and if any old computers come in I might also do a few repairs.

SECRETARY

I am an electronic engineer and I feel strongly about the environment we have around us. I am a keen repairer and like to see an item repurposed or repaired, rather than replaced. I am responsible for communication and social media for the Northallerton Repair Café.
